The site I'm building has no use for the "recent projects" module at the bottom right of the home page. Is there a way I can rewrite things so that that square can just function the same way as the first square? I would like to use it to write text.

Hello Erica,
Unfortunately there is no option to do so with the current code on the theme. However if you know a bit of WordPress code you can have a look at the home.php file and create a code for a custo sidebar. That way you could add a text/html widget from WordPress.
